SMASHBOX Create & Transform Master Class Palette :Transformers and Eye shadow Palettes

image

Well, I’ve come to the final two palettes in the set. You can read more about my thoughts on the first two palettes here and here.

Transformers

This palette is rather interesting. It has light eye shades and cheek shades

image

Here’s what the swatches looked like on my arm.

image

They are highly pigmented and very easy to apply. I found that Bewitched was along with all the shades were highly pigmented.

These would be great to use during the day or as an accent shadow for a pop of color. I will need to play around with them to see what I can come up with.

Here’s a shot of my arm in the sun.

image

As you can see they are pastel in color but add a great shimmer. Fuse Blown is very hard to see but it’s there. Fuse Blown might be great to test as a highlighter possibly.

image

This picture is a little better but you can still see how they Transformer shades have some shimmer to them.

Eyeshadows

image

Like everything palette in this set, the eyeshadows are a nice array of colors. they are also high quality and highly pigmented.

Here’s the swatch test

image

I will confess the one that got me from viewing the set online was the shade named TailFeather. It’s a versatile mix of teal or a bluish green. the one that is a bit hard to see in this list is Washed out. That one is a bit of a shimmer with mauve I guess.

Here’s a picture in sunlight.

In this picture, you can see Washed out much better. it’s  almost a coppery golden color.

So far just from trying out the shades and palettes, I am very happy with my purchase. I will need to create some looks to share with all of you

You can learn more about the set via the link provided (Again as an FYI I purchased this set when it was on sale.)

SMASHBOX Create & Transform Master Class Palette :Contour/Cheeks Palette

I will confess I don’t know how to contour and I have no interest in learning. That being said here’s the next palette in my recent Smashbox set. You can read about the lip palette here.

Contour/Cheeks

Here is a picture of some swatches I took on my arm.

These are very highly pigmented and glide on easily. they also wiped off well too.

Here’s a picture I took so you can see what they look like in sunlight.

As you can see they do look different in sunlight. the Guava and Rosy seem to stand out more. while Highlight is a bit more muted. Bronze also seems to be a bit more orangish but maybe it’s just me.

My final post will deal with the last two palettes.

SMASHBOX Create & Transform Master Class Palette : Lip Palette

I figured I’d break down the set into sections. This way it would cut down on one long post.

So let’s begin.

The Set

image

This palette offers six shades.

image

As you can see the shades range from dark to red to brown. There’s even a shimmer option.

The Shades

Here’s an overview of the shades as I applied them. I will admit I applied them with a q-tip or my finger so forgive the rushed or smeared lipstick

image

Bank Rolled is very reminiscent of the 90′s goth trend.

Here’s another picture where I have more applied

image
image

I will admit Double Take is more of an accent lipstick. I could see using it over a general color to add some shimmer. As you can see on me it’s sort of like a bubblegum pink.

The next shade is Similiar to this one. I think it would make a great addition to a general lip color.

Fiery is sort of an orangish color. it’s also has a bit of shimmer in it. So I guess you could use this as a lipgloss.

Now Audition  is a natural color. on me, it’s similar to a mauve or close to my natural lip color.

Now Red Rage is just that. It’s bright eye-catching and on me may turn bright red.

Witchy s the last color in the palette. Again to me, this is a bit of a throwback to the 90′s goth trend. It’s a deep plum. Depending on your chemistry it may even look like a chocolate.

My Thoughts

I will have to mix and match some of these lips shades with existing colors I already own. I can say this much that all the lipsticks are very creamy. They glide on well and are highly pigmented.

The lipsticks also wipe off well. So far I am very happy with my purchase.

I will share more about the other palettes in another two blog posts. So keep an eye out for those.

SMASHBOX:
Create & Transform Master Class Palette

image

I’m not one for high-end cosmetics but I recently earned a Sephora gift card as a thank you for helping with an app test.

With that being the case I figured I’d treat myself to something different. So I set to working search Sephora’s website trying to see what I could buy. Granted like many of you know $20 dollars doesn’t always go very far. I searched by price point and then finally by brand.

Well while searching by a brand I came across this Smashbox set. I’d heard great things about this company along with their products. I looked over the info and opted to buy this set. Since it included everything I needed. I also liked that it was on sale. So my gift card would help cut down on the cost. (FYI the price has gone back up since I originally ordered the set.)

What’s in the Box:

image

When I opened the box I was surprised to see that it came with a booklet that shows you how to use the makeup for example looks. It also gives you suggestions on how ot layer the products to benefit your look as well.

The palette sets are all contained in one box. it opens like a book.

I’m going to share another post dealing with all the palettes.

In the meantime, you can learn more from the link provided.
