Today’s blog posts are up. I finally got around to sharing about the @sep.beauty liquid sticker nail I tried a few weeks ago. Thanks to @0.8l_usa for the reviewing opportunity. #reviewsandsavingspal #linkinbio #freesample

I was wondering when this would arrive. #freesample #freefroreview thanks to #tryitsampling and @bazaarvoice for this review opportunity.

Trudeau Silicone Fluted Cake Pan

image

Back in October, I was sent a free Trudeau Silicon cake pan to review from a product testing community I’m a part of.  I was very excited to try it out. I had reviewed a few silicone baking mats a few years ago which I love. You can read about those here.

As you can see the pan is similar to a bundt cake pan. it includes a warranty card and basic info.

The basics are simple the pan according to Trudeau are the following:

is BPA Free. Can be used up to 428 degrees F or 220 C. Is dishwasher and microwave safe. it can also be used in the freezer. It has a lifetime warranty and is food safe silicone. It also has a steel structure with the silicone body. It also has a 10 cup capacity.

I liked the pan style because it is easy to store and due to its flexibility it can be stacked in a bowl for easy storage.

Baking test

I washed the pan prior to using it. It washed well with just a little soap and warm water.

The instructions state that you can not use cooking spray with this product. so I just buttered my pan. It worked great. Since it’s flexible it is easy to get the butter in to the bottom and up the sides. The instructions didn’t indicate if you can flour the pan or not so I left it this way.

I went about putting together my cake mix and when I was done I filled the pan. I can say this much the pan sits flat on any surface. it is easy to fill. As I mentioned before it has a 10 cup capacity. the handles are easy to hold and the lip of the pan has a steel structure mixed with the silicone.

image

As you can see the cake mix settled evenly into the pan. I placed it on a baking sheet lined with foil because I didn’t think it was a good idea to place the cake pan on the oven rack alone. I will say this depending on the weather you may need to leave your cake in for a few extra minutes. I followed baking directions on the cake box.

I baked another cake today (Sunday, Dec. 3rd, 2017) and found this to be true still. You will have to check on your cake just to make sure. I always use a toothpick to check if a cake is done. once the toothpick comes out clean I know it’s fully baked.

The one thing I did like about the pan is that it heats evenly.

As you can see my cake turned out well. I let it cool for a few minutes before I tried to remove it from the pan.

Removing the Cake

image

I didn’t have any issue removing the cake from the pan. I placed a plant on top of the pan and flipped it. As I was flipping the plate and pan I could feel the cake slipping out of the pan.

As you can see the pan looked relatively clean after I removed the cake. Being that this is a fluted cake pan it is a bit more tapered than a general bundt cake pan. To me, they looked similar but I do see a small difference.

The End Result

image

I can say that my cake came out very moist and fluffy. I happened to use was  Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Favorites Yellow Cake Mix it came out a caramel color because I added two nesquick chocolate powder packets to the yellow cake mix.

All in all, I am very happy with the cake pan. it is lightweight and easy to store. This would be a great gift for any baker.
